Make something you LOVE and share it with the WORLD.

I've always known that I'm a little bit different than most people I know. A little more "artsy" if you will. Like most crafty-creatives, I see beauty and design everywhere I turn. All my senses come to life when I experience something new. I get giddy touring a new city or museum for the first time. Savoring a delicious meal, hearing Renée Fleming in concert, smelling spring come to life, or walking the beach and seeing God's creation really lights a fire in me. I get this sudden urge to make something with my hands.

I've felt from an early age that I was made to create art. Exploring the corners of my imagination, in some shape or form, was something that happened everyday. I remember being 9-years-old and performing in front of my family with my hair-brush-mirocophone. I'd also retreat to my room and spend hours upon hours drawing my favorite stuffed animals and Disney movie characters. My dad, the photographer, basically has our whole life in film, so I learned a lot from him and his artistry. My time in college enhanced my abilities and helped me to narrow down my art form to graphic design. When my husband asked me to marry him, I decided to experiment and make my own wedding invitations. I enjoyed it so much that I started helping other friends and family members with their papery. Since then I've enjoyed using my skills and talent to celebrate people and their life events through design and other crafts. It thrills me beyond words to be a part of someone else's "big moment" and see the joy that comes from it! I absolutely love what I do.

In addition to being an artist, I am a wife to my amazing opera-singer husband, owner of the cutest pit bull dog, a very patriotic Texan and New Yorker, and lover of good movies, novels, bold colors, coffee and yoga. While I enjoy being in the kitchen and trying to live a more "paleo" lifestyle, I still crave chocolate, pizza and chips...almost everyday. Laying in the sun, traveling afar, reading the Good Book and just being with my husband soothes my soul.

Some nice people saying some nice things...

"Jessica came up with a logo that is so ME that I literally had tears in my eyes. Because when it feels like someone totally "gets" you, it can be overwhelming, right? ... I cannot say enough nice things about my experience working with Jessica ... The girl's got mad skills."
Arielle Doneson of Arielle Doneson Photography

"Oh my goodness, Jessica is a genius! Seriously!! She is definitely in the right profession."
 Becca Egger of BE Photography

"Jessica has a special talent that I regrettably do not have ... I knew immediately the first and only person who I would trust to design something for me. And as expected, she did a fabulous job! It was just the jump start I needed!"
 Rachel Parkhurst of Parkhurst Studios

"We love our invitations! Excellent job, definitely recommending you to all of our friends."

These are a few of my favorite things...

READS :: Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers is my all time favorite book.  While the actual story is beautiful, exciting, and romantic, it also shows a much deeper level of what true love looks like - between the Creator and His creation. And... anything written by Nicholas Sparks, The Hunger Games Trilogy, Unbroken and The Great Gatsby. I love a good story, so please share your favs with me!

SHOWS :: Watching a good show or movie is like my "chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool" thing to do. Number one fav is Downton Abbey...all the way. I'm so fascinated with the old way of England and all the proper talk, clothing and dinners. I'm obsessed and sometimes wish I lived there in that time period in real life! And on the other end of the spectrum, I really enjoy 24, Homeland and Dexter.  In hollywoodland, I love Pride & Prejudice, Top Gun, War Horse, Avatar, Return to Me and Underworld.

EATS :: This is a tricky one.  I have a huge sweet tooth for dark chocolate and crave it every day. But I love breakfast. I could eat all breakfast foods every day for every meal. I'm also a sucker for genuine Italian food :) One trip to Italy did me in.

QUOTES :: Way too many, I know...
"Don't let your happiness depend on something you may lose."   – C.S. Lewis
"I am seeking. I am striving. I am in it with all my heart."  – Vincent van Gogh
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."  – Leonardo da Vinci
"This world is but a canvas to our imagination."   – Henry David Thoreau
"Good design is obvious. Great design is transparent."  – Jo Sparano
"A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.”  – Louis Nizer
"Visual communications of any kind… should be seen as the embodiment of form and function: the integration of the beautiful and the useful.”  – Paul Rand

PLACE :: The island of Ischia in Italy is the most magical place on the planet. The slow paced island life mixed with the most amazing food and art is like a dream come true. Everyone should visit.

PERSON :: My husband, Matt. For no reason and for every reason.
