Texas, Our Texas

Until I left Texas, I didn't realize how much pride Texans have in their state. I had no idea. I thought every state celebrated their symbols and displayed their flags like we do, but it's really just Texans who do that! So when my NY-Italian grandfather, who moved to Texas in the 70s to provide a better life for his family, asked me to paint a Texas flag with bluebonnets (the state flower), I didn’t hesitate!
